website plans

I've been thinking about putting together a websites for a longtime now. It's about time that I get my act together and actually do so..

There are a number of things I'd like to discuss...

One, I would love to share my humanistic interests with friends and acquaintances. For example, I'd love to explain why certain subjects interest me. Take, USC football. I just love west coast football. I'm not the biggest fan of football as the sport (there are so many good sports out there), but I love the way it's played on the west coast. I love how those teams all play spread offenses and throw the ball a lot. A lot of folks forget that Stanford's program was the first program to actually throw the ball forward...obviously that as a long time ago. (I remember reading about that for the first time. It was so funny, it was like: "Numerous discoveries and inventions have taken place at Stanford and in an array of fields: the concept of REM component of a sleep cycle, the CAT scan, and of course, the forward pass in football." Anyway, back to football. I also love how west coast teams have a lot Asian players. Obviously, this is more a fxn of there being many more asians on the west coast than elsewhere. But perhaps growing up on the east coast and playing sports all my life, I was always sensitive to the perceive un-athleticism of asian athletes. Both the Pac-10 and WAC have a lot of asian football players, including the U. Hawaii QB, Timmy Chang, who holds the all-time NCAA record for total yards. Fking amazing. Yay for the spread offense. Now, back to USC football. Ppl talk a lot of about Carroll's coaching skills and Leinart's golden arm, but really, the fireworks come from Reggie Bush and LenDale White. White is just a beast. And he plays so methodically--no surprises. He penetrates the line right where everyone expects it, only he hits it so hard. One reporter described him as Hemmingway-esque for his methodical and terse approach to the game. Bush, on the other hand, just comes out of nowhere. You just never know what's coming next. When USC played ND earlier this yr, this guy was literally runniing laps around the ND defense. On one play, this ND safety dove for his legs, and Bush jumped the guy. I mean, literally hopped over him. fkin amazing. Imagine some 230lb free safety diving at you...and you just calmy stepping over him. It was like playing a video game. So yeah, if White is the Hemmingway, Bush is the...Jack Kerouac?
